  • A 32-bit Java 2 JRE or SDK, version 1.5 or higher.
  • TCP/IP connectivity to all the agents.
  • Optionally, an X emulator that supports Java Swing, to use the graphical mode of the installer.
Supported Platforms:

InQuest can run on any of the following platforms:

  • Windows: Windows XP Pro, 7, 2008 R2. Note that on 64-bit versions of Windows, only 32-bit WMQ-applications are supported
  • Unix: AIX 5.3 and 6.1 Sun Solaris 9, 10 (SPARC) HPUX 11i V2 and V3 (PA-Risc)
  • Linux (Intel): WMQ supported Enterprise versions of SuSE (SLES) and Red Hat (RHEL)

WebSphere® MQ (previously known as MQSeries)

On any machine where you want to run InQuest you will need an installation of:

  • IBM WebSphere® MQ 6.0.n or
  • IBM WebSphere® MQ 7.0.n

Java

A 32-bit Java 2 JRE (run-time) or SDK (run-time and development kit, including compiler), version 1.5 or higher, is required on every system where InQuest will run.

On Windows systems an appropriate JRE can be installed as part of the InQuest installation process. JRE and JDK implementations are freely available from both Sun and IBM. In addition, most Java IDEs are packaged with their own Java implementations.

Database

The InQuest Client requires a database to store configuration and authentication information. Audit data are also stored in database tables.InQuest is designed to use any JDBC compliant repository, typically an RDBMS. While any product which provides a JDBC driver (type 3) should be compatible, the InQuest Client has been tested specifically with the following databases:

  • IBM® DB2® Database
  • Oracle® Database
  • Microsoft SQL Server®
  • MySQL®

This list is provided for convenience in case you need to obtain a suitable DBMS product. Cressida does not specifically recommend these products over other similar products. InQuest is expected to work with any JDBC compatible repository including those which use a JDBC-ODBC adapter.
